Insert Processing

Insert processing is rubber to metal bonding where the insert is bonded during the molding process. We produce all inserts in house and each insert is processed and inspected to be free of any defects or contamination before adhesive is applied and added to the mold.

Inserts are physically placed into each cavity of the mold. Molds used for top inserts have magnets that hold the insert in place. Other molds used for encapsulated production are designed with chaplet pins to suspend the insert in the mold and allow the rubber to flow around it.

Once the molding process is started, the adhesive on the inserts is activated to bond to the rubber.

Insert processing is applied for any part that requires flexibility and stability. Parts using insert processing can range from very small motor mounts to larger applications.
